Although our New England Patriots won’t be playing in the Super Bowl this year, it’s still a great opportunity for friends and family to get together to watch Usher’s incredible half-time show, commercials rumored to cost over $6 million, and maybe catch a glimpse of Taylor Swift!
With kick-off coinciding with the dinner hour, keeping guests fed and the host out of the kitchen can be a challenge! Here at the Chip-in Farm Store we are delighted to sell Dom’s Sausage chicken, steak tips and sausages, which are tenderized and pre-seasoned to simplify mealtime prep.
Whether your Superbowl gathering for one or forty, here is a 30-minute, sheet pan sausage and pepper recipe will keep everyone satisfied and focused on the event, and help make clean-up a breeze.
Dom’s Sheet Pan Sausage and Pepper Bar
With a prep time of under 10 minutes, this hearty and delicious mini-buffet is easy for the host to prepare and guests to manage while watching the game.
Serves 6
Prep time: 10 minutes
Bake time: 20 – 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 package (1 ¼ lbs.) Dom’s Sweet or Hot Italian Sausage
- 1 medium green pepper
- 1 medium red pepper
- 1 large yellow onions
- 1 lb. small potatoes, rinsed
- Olive oil, salt & pepper
- Your favorite mustard
- Optional: Jessica’s Brioche rolls
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Core pepper, peel the onion, and chop them into 1” pieces, drizzle with olive oil, and spread out on half of the sheet pan.
- Cut the potatoes into bite-sized pieces if needed. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle liberally with salt and pepper. Spread onto the pan, next to the onions and peppers.
- Place the sausage in the pan next to the potatoes and drizzle with olive oil.
Tip: Do not prick the sausages. This will dry them out. - Roast for 20 – 25 minutes, turning the sausage and veggies every 8 – 10 minutes for even browning. Sausage should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.
- When the sausage is cooked, remove the pan and let the sausages rest for a few minutes. Put the peppers/onions and potatoes in serving bowls.
- Slice the sausage and put on a serving plate.
- Serve the sausage, onions & peppers, and potatoes along with your favorite mustard.
Serving tip: Cut Jessica’s brioche rolls into quarters so guests can create their own mini-sliders.
The Farm Store also sells a wide assortment of locally produced sweet and salty snacks to compliment the main course, including Asher’s Chocolate Covered Pretzels, Cedar’s dips, and Concord Teacakes pastries.
