About Stonewood Farm

Turkeys at Stonewood Farm

Stonewood Farm is an 800-acre farm located in western Vermont that specializes in turkeys. Originally a dairy farm, Paul and Frances Stone family started raising turkeys in 1987; the farm is currently managed by their son Peter and his family.

The Stones pride themselves on their humane farming and processing practices and utilize a “slow growth” approach to produce a delicious and naturally self-basting turkey.

The birds are housed in seven barns that total 12,000 square feet and are fed an all-natural diet consisting of all-vegetable feed and whole grains, without hormones, antibiotics or animal byproducts.

But the real secret to producing fine, fresh turkeys? According to Grandma Stone, it’s “plenty of Vermont air, cold nights, good feed, and tender loving care.”
